Pope Francis clears the air on abortion
With his recent decree concerning abortion, Pope Francis found himself under the microscope once again. Generally speaking, the reaction was mixed. He left people with more questions than answers.
What exactly was Pope Francis trying to say?
On ABC’s Pope Francis & The People, I think he said it. A wonderful exchange took place between he and Rosemary, a 31 yr. old single mother. Rosemary explained her struggles as a single parent.
His response brought Rosemary, her 2 beautiful daughters, and probably many viewing from home, to tears:
Pope Francis answered the question. To choose life is to respect it. Sometimes, making the right choice takes courage. To abort is to kill. The pope also showed that there is also no room for condemnation. That was evident by his genuine attentiveness, compassion, and love for every single person that he interacted with.
Pro-life means that you value human life at all stages. The pope showed that, in both word and deed. I’m proud he’s on our side.
