Planned Parenthood staff laughs about dead babies; still want to give them your money?

A fifth video has been released by the Center for Medical Progress. It features Melissa Farrell, director of research at Planned Parenthood’s Gulf Coast affiliate, and two people claiming to be fetal tissue purchasers. After explaining how much they’ll pay for “fetal cadavers,” the prospective buyers are offered a look.

At nine minutes and forty two seconds, one of them asks to see some “fresh specimens.” Staff members start to laugh, explaining that it’s “been long day” and the remains are “all mixed up together in a bag.” Still, they do their best and manage to fish out pieces of a child aborted at twenty weeks (the point when evidences suggests a baby can feel pain). “It was a twin,” one of them casually notes.

These are the people we give half a billion dollars to. Every year.

Senate pro-lifers tried to change that this week, supporting legislation to divert Planned Parenthood’s funding to qualified community health centers. While not performing abortions, they offer a range of health services regardless of a patient’s ability to pay. And unlike Planned Parenthood, many of them do provide mammograms.

The bill would have benefited those with financial difficulties and limited healthcare options. I say “would have” because thanks to Sen. Mark Kirk (R-IL) and all but two Senate Democrats, the bill was defeated. This was surely happy news for President Obama; White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest has promised that any move to defund Planned Parenthood “would draw a presidential veto.”

I’m not surprised the Obama administration continues to defend Planned Parenthood’s funding. After all, it ignores group’s criminal activity too.

There are strict rules governing how fetal organs can be collected, as federal law prohibits “alteration of the timing, method, or procedures used to terminate the pregnancy… solely for the purposes of obtaining the tissue.” Not that it matters to Planned Parenthood’s officials, though. They’re happy to break rules if the price is right.

Two minutes and eighteen seconds into the video above, Ms. Farrell is asked if abortion techniques can be altered so as to procure specific organs. Despite it being a felony to do so, she has no objections, emphasizing that Planned Parenthood’s physicians “can make it happen.” That can-do spirit could be why Farrell’s department “contributes so much to the bottom line of our organization here.” Her admissions fit with those made by other high ranking Planned Parenthood figures.

Dr. Deborah Nucatola is Planned Parenthood’s senior director of medical services, and she’s also fine with changing how abortions are performed to facilitate organ harvesting:

And, at the four minute and ten second mark of CMP’s first video, Nucatola describes performing what sounds like a partial-birth abortion. They’ve been banned since 2003, something Nucatola is clearly aware of. “The Federal (Partial-Birth) Abortion Ban is a law,” she explains, “and laws are up to interpretation.”

Of course, scandal is nothing new for Planned Parenthood, as its staff have also helped to cover up sexual abuse, engaged in fraudulent billing, and offered to perform sex-selective abortions.

If you’re not happy about writing them a check, then sign Live Action’s online petition asking Congress to end Planned Parenthood’s tax funded subsidy. It’s available here, along with additional proof of the group’s wrongdoing.

Because there’s plenty of outfits that are worthy of public support; Planned Parenthood just isn’t one of them.
